A few people and projects that I'm lucky enough to have been involved with or in.

I'm also lucky enough to work regularly in the bands of these lovely people as a sideman:

Ben Lee Quintet -

Tom Syson Sextet -

The hub of information for all things relating to jazz in the second city -

This band was formed in 2015 to showcase the breadth of compositional and instrumental talent on the Birmingham scene.  We have been involved in three album releases since - more information at

This band was set up to explore the jazz organ trio tradition, taking in Jimmy Smith, Larry Goldings and John Scofield.  We play a mixture of original compositions, standards and classics from the organ trio lineage.  It's also great to have this band with two people I've played with for a long time and love to work with - Ben Lee on guitar and Billy Weir on drums.

An organ trio, also featuring Ben Lee and Oscar Reynolds.  Playing original funk music inspired by artists such as John Scofield, Jimmy Smith, The Meters, Soulive and Lettuce.  We released our debut EP in November 2014 and we're currently planning a few dates across the country to promote it.  Much more information is available on our official website.

This was a band originally set up as an education project by Jazzlines (the jazz promotion wing of the Town Hall Symphony Hall organisation) that has since taken on a life of it's own.  Featuring myself, James Banner on bass and Ric Yarborough on drums, we're building up a repertoire of original material influenced by the great piano trios - Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau to name a few - that we hope to be recording to share with you soon.

Featuring Hugh Pascall on trumpet, Richard Foote on trombone, Chris Young and Vittorio Mura on saxophones and woodwind, Nick Jurd on bass and Euan Palmer on drums.  Our debut album featuring guest vocalist Maria Väli (pictured left) was released in February 2018.
